How to choose CCTV system.

The most important phase in the installation of the CCTV system is planning.To facilitate your planning process we have provided a Question & Answer list as follows;

What is the purpose of your CCTV system installation?

At present, CCTV system used for a variety of purposes: to monitor baby in the house, monitoring the diseased animal surgery, monitor process in a factory, monitor traffic flow on major streets, monitor operations in a warehouse and so on. But now more CCTV system widely used to prevent and criminal record. Due to this you need to specify if the main purpose of your CCTV system installation. Of course to monitor traffic flow and video as proof of identification used in court, request the resolution is different.

The area you want covered?

To cover the whole premises with CCTV system will spend high cost. Therefore you need to determine the most that need to be covered and areas that are less important. Areas attention is a high-risk area. For example in a shops, high-risk areas is probably feature a wide portion of goods valuable and counter money drawer.

What do you want to watch?

Observation and capture of fingerprint image can be divided into four categories: monitor, detect, recognised and identify. Usually you will need at least one camera that can identify an normally installed at the entrance to an area, or in places other based on their different needs. For example, if you have a shop, you will need a system that can identify a person who enter the store, allowing you to monitor or observe during the person in  the store and recognized them  at high risk.

CAMERA GUIDE

Reddish installation place should be determined prior to CCTV cameras can
selected. Only after that can you choose the appropriate type of Reddish.

Infra red - red LED infra-red camera around the lens. By having Infra
red LED, the camera can see in the dark.
Box camera - classic-shaped camera is designed for indoor use only but can also be placed in the 'Housing' for use outdoors. This type of camera can be connected to any suitable lenses for different needs.
Camera Day / Night - during the day the picture shown is stained and at night the picture will switch to black and white automatically. This gave a colorless picture quality or better contrast in dark conditions.
Rugged camera 'vandals' - this kind of camera can be used indoor or outdoor, where this type of camera placed high risk area and are easily damaged.

Hidden camera - there are cameras hidden in everyday items such as PIR sensors, smoke detectors and so on. This type of camera can be used in areas that need to be monitored without the knowledge of the public.

PTZ Dome Camera - PTZ camera (P-pan, T-tilt, Z-zoom) allowing movement on the camera, usually digunakann outside and in the open. This camera is also used internally where there is a large space to watch as the shopping center and supermarket.

Cctv camera resolution is measured in TV Lines (TVL). Typically, the most common camera has a resolution of around 330 TVL high resolution camera while can reach 400 TVL or more but high resolution cameras are more expensive.

LIGHT

many cctv cameras are designed to mengesuikan to the light around automatically. But in the extreme conditions of light and dark it requires assesori to drive it. Camera face of extreme light will cause the camera was shut down to prevent damage. Most cameras Day / Night will turn colorless in 0.5 lux.

Minimum light level required by a camera is lux.
To find out the lux level, please refer the following information:
Sunny day 50.000 to 55.000 lux
Cloudy day from 5.000 to 10.000 lux
Commercial lighting of 500 lux
Stadium or street lights from 30 to 50 lux
Moonlight 0.5 - 0.75 lux

During the ambient light is not bright enough for the camera to operate normally, the lights can be installed to increase the background light, but to remember "light pollution" would cause a problem occurs. In this state of infra-red is more suitable. Some camera day / night has been equipped with infra-red light.

LENS

most of the dome camera and IR have been equipped with the appropriate lens but it may not be able to provide the required angle view. The lens on the camera can be altered so that half can adjust the camera to use a certain. The lens can be divided into two types: fixed lens with a fixed focal length and lens "vari-focal" with a focal length that can vary to focus on a particular angle. Most cameras come with a lens Box no.

Choosing the right lens look very complicated but we can based on a simple guide. Wide-angle lens (2.8mm) will give a corner or a wide area view but can not view the area in more depth (deep) and narrow angle lens (12mm) will give a narrow view of the area but could glance deeper or more distant. Therefore, the lower number of lens will give a wider view of the area, for example under 2.5mm lens, sometimes called "fish eye lens" has a very broad point of view but there is distortion of the situation around the edge image. The focal length of the lens of the most common is 3.6.

GUIDE TO DIGITAL VIDEO RECORDER (DVR) DVR

Digital Video Recorder (DVR) can be divided into several types with different functions, from basic models to highly sophisticated models. All data is recorded on a hard disk that is commonly used in the computer. Therefore, you do not have to change the tape and save a lot of tape. There are many existing functions (listed below) and this is very important to choose a model that meets your needs.

Important issues to consider when choosing dvr is as follows:
•

•

•

•

•

Total station - one camera requires one channel in a system, an 8-channel DVR to 8 cameras or less than 8 cameras. You can plan ahead and install DVR which has more channels than the needs of the current number of cameras. Familiarity is the number of channels on the DVR is 4.8, or 16 channels.
Rate images - images per second (frames per second - FPS or images per second - IPS). 25 FPS is needed for each camera for video motion such as live video. Therefore, 100 FPS needed to 4 video cameras in order to quality "real time"
Hard drive size - the size of hard disks is an important issue to consider. Length of recording depends on the format of 'compression', image resolution and number of cameras used in the system. There is a limit dvr hard disk size that can be supported by any dvr dvr and can accommodate more than one hard disk.
Resolution - the picture quality is dependent on several factors, the availability can be corrected in dvr, but the resolution should be considered first to get a good picture quality. 352 x 288 pixel resolution can be accepted and considered as "good quality" while the 704 x 576 pixel is said to be "high resolution". There dvr that can record at a higher resolution, but the use of hard disk space will increase.
Proof Genesis Retrieval / Backup - When to show evidence to the police / authorities some DVR comes with a CD recorder or DVD video which details can be transferred and recorded to CD or DVD with ease. There are also DVR with USB socket which can be connected to a pendrive or external hard drive via USB cable to copy evidence.

Another function of the DVR are listed below:

Internet connection / network - allows you to monitor / control via the Internet. This feature is very popular among the merchant, which has many branches and parents who work with children at home with the maid.
Motion detection (also called the recording peistiwa) - DVR can make the recording after detecting movement to save hard disk storage space.
Infrared remote control - remote control is provided for the convenience of operation.
Audio recording - make an audio recording of a certain channel
Alarm Input - allows connection to an alarm signal from the camera.
Control for PTZ cameras - allows control of PTZ cameras without the need for additional tools.
Secondary Monitor - allows connection to a second monitor.
Digital magnification - can enlarge the picture on the screen digital
Arrest pictures - allow for shooting at a given moment.
Scheduled recording - allows DVR makes recording at a certain time only.
Recording speed - can convert image rate to save hard disk space.
Hidden camera settings - can hide certain channels from the screen.

IP SOLUTIONS GUIDE

The main difference between analog cameras and IP cameras is the way the video signal delivery. Analog cameras turn the video signal into a format that can be received by a television or other receiver such as DVR. An IP-based camera (IP Network Camera), digitizes the video signal using a specialized encoder, which encoder has a web server or video server. This allows the IP camera acts as a network device that can not only capture the video to be viewed on the local network, but also can be monitored via the Internet using a web browser (web browser).

Analog cameras and IP cameras can transmit signals either through a wireless or cable connection. IP cameras have the advantage of being able to connect to devices such as switches, hubs and routers that the network CAT-5 network 'existing without the need for new wiring.

ADVANTAGES IP CAMERA

•

•

•
Wireless reception nicer - IP cameras have encryption built 'encriyption', so it can provide a more secure network. Problems' signal interference 'interference' does not occur in the IP camera.

Can use existing wiring - Because IP camera is a network device, then you can use the existing cable network in your home or office. This greatly simplifies installation.

More easily controlled remotely - IP cameras are better suited for remote surveillance needs.

Analog camera recorder is Digital Video Recorder (Digital Video Recorder - DVR) and for IP camera or server IP Network Video Recorder (network video recorder - NVR).The most recent development is a hybrid digital video recorders and network (NDVR), which can receive video from IP cameras and analog cameras.

ACCESSORIES GUIDE

Wiring

cable is used to connect the camera to the power supply and DVR. Some semi-cameras equipped with the audio system, cable is also needed for audio use.

To enable video signal delivered to the DVR, the camera must be connected using a coaxial cable RG59 or RG6 called. The cable is quite similar, but not identical with coaxial cable used to connect a television and aerials. Both ends of the cable connected to the camera and DVR with BNC link.

Power is supplied to the camera via the power cable 2 core. Connector that is used depends on the socket provided on the camera and the power supply terminal.

Audio cable, if necessary, usually using 2 core cable easily separate with RG59 or RG6 from cctv cable.

RG59 coaxial cable will start to lose signal when pulled over 100 meters, while this situation can only occur when the RG6 cable distance up to 200 meters.

For remote video wiring, UTP balun smart wiring 'smart' is required. Balun pair required for each installation of cctv camera 1. CAT5 cable is used to replace the coaxial cable to balun pair connection. A CAT5 cable (4 twisted pair) can be used for video 4 (4 cameras).

A pair of passive balun can transmit signals as far as 500 meters video. A passive balun and an active balun can transmit signals as far as 1km video. While the 1.5km distance requires active balun pair.

Power supply

Reddish be supplied with adequate electrical power (in Ampere). IR cameras typically require a higher Ampere current infrared LED installed.
Continuity of power supply (Uninterrupted Power Supply - UPS) is required for DVR and cameras in high risk areas. Application of the DVR and camera power and total watts on the UPS will determine the cctv system operation during power failure blacks out '.
Past protective electrical circuit must be installed in the area of electricity supply is unstable and susceptible to lightning. There are different types of protection for video, power and data circuits.

Monitor

This monitor is connected to the DVR via a link BNC. CCTV Monitor size 14 "or 21". LCD screen TV (flat screen) size 15, 17, or 21 inches. Monitors of this type can be installed for 24 hours 7 days without stopping.
